Purchasing Agent

Description: 

T-H Marine is looking for a Purchasing Agent join our team. This position has primary responsibility for working in the Purchasing Department with vendors ordering products and materials, new product development, and overall company cost saving.

Responsibilities: 

• Research, select and purchase quality products and materials
• Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate price, terms and conditions, quality, and on-time delivery
• Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels
• Communicate with Customer Service and Sales about inventory of parts
• Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery
• Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions
• Assess quality of stock received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management
• Research for new vendors, new products, alternatives to current vendors and products
• Assist with management of Purchasing email account
• Set up new vendors, working with Accounts Payable for all needed forms or invoice quantity and price discrepancies
• Keep track, order, and disperse office/cleaning supplies
