Assistant Production Manager

T-H Marine has been serving the marine industry since 1975. We are a family corporation that takes pride in every product that leaves our factory. We are boaters and fishermen who design products for boaters and fishermen.

This position has primary responsibility for working with the Senior Production Manager leading production operations and setting high standards for performance. The Assistant Production Manager will provide leadership to Team Leads and production team members to produce quality products safely and efficiently.

 

Responsibilities:

• Develop and/or recommend a plan for production activities to accomplish the corporate objectives
• Help to develop specific short and long-range plans and goals
• Develop, review and/or recommend methods of improvement in current production practices to promote efficiency and lower costs
• Help to develop the leadership and management skills of Team Leads through mentoring and coaching
• Interview, hire, and develop team members, through recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring to meet the future needs of the business
• Coordinate the activities of the work centers to best utilize personnel through job sharing, cross training, and work schedules
• Coordinate with other departments, such as purchasing and customer service, to reach business goals
• Direct the production of products within established specifications for quality with an emphasis on efficiency and employee safety
• Provide guidance in the resolution of employee conflicts and recommend corrective action when necessary
• Coordinate studies and projects for improvements in processes, equipment, and cost reductions
• Maintain compliance with government regulations, company policy, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices

 

Required Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience leading in a production-related field
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in production or manufacturing environment 
• 2 years of management or leadership experience in a production related field
• Must have ERP system experience; NetSuite experience is highly preferred
• Working knowledge of lean six sigma methodologies and experience in leading change
• Demonstrate strong leadership and excellent communication skills
• Have ability to manage a wide range of projects and priorities
• Strong computer skills with experience in the Microsoft Office suite
