T-H Marine Pros Look Ahead to Forrest Wood Cup

August 12, 2014

The 2014 Forrest Wood Cup is set to kick off on Thursday, with the winner taking home a massive $500,000 paycheck along with bragging rights for the better part of the next year. The winner will join a long list of famous and accomplished anglers who have won this tournament in the past, including names like Greg Hackney, Scott Suggs, Brent Ehrler, Luke Clausen and last year's champion Randall Tharp.

This year the competition is set to return to Lake Murray, South Carolina where Michael Bennett won the 2008 Forrest Wood Cup by weighing in a four-day total of 52 pounds 3 ounces. This year is especially exciting for FLW rookie Casey Ashley who lives in neighboring Donalds, SC and counts Lake Murray as his home body of water. Ashley looks to become the first angler to win in his first Cup appearance since Luke Clausen famously accomplished that amazing feat in 2004.

Among the 45 professionals in the field, 13 are T-H Marine Pro Staffers with another several being T-H Marine VIP's. While their levels of sponsorship may vary slightly from angler to angler, we are more than excited for every one of our guys and look forward to one of them hoisting the trophy when it's all said and done on Sunday.
