How to Install V-T2 Vents In Livewell Lid

April 27, 2025

Your livewell is only as good as the environment it provides for your fish—and when oxygen levels drop or temperatures climb, fish stress and mortality become real concerns. That’s where V-T2 Livewell Vents come in. These innovative vents allow for passive air exchange, helping to regulate temperature and increase oxygen levels—all without pumps or wires.

If you’re ready to give your fish the healthiest possible ride, here’s a quick and easy guide to installing V-T2 vents in your livewell

What You'll Need:

  • V-T2 Vents (1 pair per livewell)
  • Drill / Nut Driver
  • 3" hole saw
  • Vacuum or shop vac
  • Garbage Bag

1. Choose the Mounting Location

Open your livewell lid and look for a flat area around the center of the lid. By mounting in the center of the lid, this allows for better airflow. Ideally, you want one vent on each side of the lid to promote cross-ventilation.

2. Drill the Hole

After placing your garbage bag inside your livewell to catch shavings. Drill your hole, using a 3-inch hole saw, where you marked the center for each vent. Be sure to drill slowly and cleanly—especially if your lid is plastic or fiberglass. This will prevent craking of the lid or teaering you carpet.

3. Vaccum up shavings

Use a vacuum or shop vac to clean up debris from the drilling process. Wipe around the hole to ensure a clean surface for the vent to sit flush.

4. Install V-T2 Vents

Each V-T2 comes with screws and a backing ring. Drop the vent into the hole from the top side of the lid, align the holes, and secure the backing ring from underneath using the provided screws. Tighten until snug, but don’t overtighten to avoid cracking the lid.

Why It Matters

Installing V-T2 vents is one of the simplest yet most effective upgrades you can make to your boat. Better airflow means less stress, more oxygen, and healthier fish—especially in warm or tournament conditions. No batteries, no wiring, no worries.
